Prior to joining KPMG in 2004 John spent more than 17 years with another of the “Big 4” accounting firms and worked with that firm in Australia, England, Hungary, Poland and Vietnam.

John has extensive experience in managing and coordinating numerous advisory engagements in Vietnam and Cambodia. He has experience in leading large teams of people from different cultural and professional backgrounds and a proven record in delivering results in difficult internal and external environments. Through his experience John has developed a wealth of knowledge and understanding regarding business and business practices in Vietnam and Cambodia and has assisted many businesses (state owned, privately owned, foreign owned) to succeed in Vietnam and Cambodia.

I am a founder at Orlar- a great Australian Agritech company in Vietnam and now working on licencing globally. Orlar is now 89% women but we strive to give opportunity, clean food, clean water and clean jobs to everyone.

Thao believes that every individual is capable of making the world a better place and this belief has inspired her to commit her professional life to the Community Development sector.

Thao has been LIN’s Executive Director since August 2019 after joining LIN in September 2017 as Finance Director, where she had oversight of all financial and operational functions, including budgeting, forecasting, internal control system, working with donors on grant proposal budgets and financial reporting, communication with Governmental Departments to ensure that the organization’s governance and finance system complied with Governmental regulations, as well as advised the senior management team and Board of Director on governance decisions.

Prior to LIN, Thao had seven years of financial management experience in the nonprofit sector. She also was a university lecturer in business finance and has mentored nonprofit emerging leaders on internal controls.

She is described by her colleagues and associates as a trusted partner, a collaborative leader and a relationship builder who deeply commits to the organization’s mission and the community. That is why in early 2018, Thao was selected to participate in the US Government’s “Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative” professional program. This exchange program provided an opportunity to broaden her leadership skills and build a wide network with American partners and emerging leaders from different countries who work in the community development sector

Matthew is a qualified accountant who has resided in Vietnam for more than 15 years. He has extensive experience working in Australia for Big 4 accounting firms and investment funds, and since Matthew relocated to Vietnam he has spent much of his time advising foreign investors on successfully undertaking business in Vietnam, corporate investment transactions, market entry and corporate finance. He also currently sits on a number of boards in Vietnam, advising as an independent non-executive director.

Matthew graduated from Monash University in 1994 with a Bachelor of Commerce and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in Australia in 1997.
