Tim O'Callaghan

Tim recently joined the Victorian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and is the General Manager, Strategic Initiatives working with both the Victorian Chamber of Commerce & Industry and the Melbourne Chamber of Commerce. Tim’s role encompasses the Visitor Economy, Regional Chambers, Local Councils, Exporting Consultations, State Government relationships, New membership for Victorian Chamber Platinum as well as the large market segment of the Melbourne Chamber.

Tim joined the Chamber from Visit Victoria where he was Ambassador, Business & Corporate for the Bushfire Recovery. The role was centred around the economic recovery of the devastated regions organising Corporate Victoria to hold a conference, event or launch in one of these locations. As COVID began to impact the Visitor Economy, he moved to provide strategic direction on a range of Visit Victoria projects.

Prior to Visit Victoria, he worked at Qantas for 27 years. During this time he held a number of senior roles both in Victoria and New South Wales and he finished as the State Manager for Victoria. The Qantas roles provided first hand experience in a number of Visitor Economy initiatives from not only Qantas, but also from the many major events known only to Victoria.

Tim has had a number of roles on various charities and committees around Melbourne including the Victorian Police Blue Ribbon Foundation, 3 years as a judge on the Victorian Division of the Australia Day panel and on the Business Council for the National Gallery of Victoria.

Tim is married to Kate and they have a daughter Molly and a son, Darcy.

Rebecca Ball

Based in Ho Chi Minh City, Rebecca leads the Austrade Vietnam team which is focused on growing Australia’s trade, investment and education relationship with Vietnam and Cambodia.
Rebecca Ball commenced her posting to Vietnam in February 2021, returning to the market after first working in Ho Chi Minh City in 2000. Prior to her current role, Rebecca was the Executive Director, Invest and Trade Western Australia. Previous leadership roles include A/CEO South West Development Commission, Western Australian Government and Austrade Trade
Commissioner roles in Jakarta and New Delhi.

With more than 20 years' experience across economic and industry development, trade, investment, tourism and education in both public and private sectors in Australia and overseas, Rebecca is passionate about representing Australia and
supporting Australian enterprises succeed globally.

Rebecca holds a Master of Business (Tourism Development) and a Bachelor of Arts (Hons)(Political Science).

John Qiu

John is the current Director International (Transnational Education) at Box Hill Institute. His passion in international education is to integrate internationalisation and localisation, aiming to make contributions to the social and economic development of the local communities through quality transnational education.
Over the last 20 years, John has held senior executive positions within both TAFE and University sectors in Australia, most recent roles including as General Manager and Vice President International at Box Hill Institute; and as Director International Recruitment at a leading Australian University.

John is a well-known leader with significant achievements in transnational education management and international student marketing and recruitment. His specializations include establishing strategic partnerships, international marketing, and providing expert advice in international policy and international relationships. Over the years, his specialization has also further expanded to include turning strategies into action and transforming goals into organization behaviour.

John is an internationally recognized specialist in international education and training industry, has been invited as keynote speaker at international conferences, and as International Education Expert and Honorary International Advisor for many education institutions, International Education Academies, and International Associations globally.

Jennie Dehn

Jennie Dehn oversees Global Engagement on behalf of Chisholm Institute and has over 20 years of experience in the international education sector. Her qualifications include a Masters of Enterprise and Graduate Certificate of Management (International Education).
Jennie is an experienced senior project manager, director and leader in both commercial and overseas development assistance, predominantly in the vocational education sector. Prior to joining Chisholm she was the Executive Director Corporate and Commercial Services for the Australian Government funded Australia-Pacific Training Coalition based in Fiji for 5 years.
Jennie oversees international student recruitment and admissions (VET and Higher Education) as well as offshore projects and transnational partnerships. The project and partnerships unit identifies and develops international partnerships and opportunities as well as ensuring delivery of quality outcomes for their clients. The division currently manages over 10 educational partnerships across the globe with up to 3,500 students offshore, in addition to Australian government funded activities.
The student recruitment and admissions unit focus on growth in international students for onshore programs, as well as supporting students throughout their study experience at Chisholm.
In 2018 - 2019, Jennie led the delivery of a major TVET reform project in Vietnam delivering Australian qualifications across 12 sectors with 25 colleges leading to over 720 graduates. She is also a member of the Australian Chamber of Commerce Vietnam Education Sub-Committee.
In 2020, Chisholm was awarded the Premier of Victoria International Educator of the Year and the World Federation of Colleges and Polytechnics Gold Award for Access to Learning and Employment.

Lan Huong Vu

With extensive experience in industrial relations, employment, vocational education, childcare and protection, gender equality, social protection, migrant workers, she has promoted external relations in labor and social affairs with Asian, European countries, Australia and New Zealand, US, UN agencies; promoted human rights in labor and social affairs. She also was a member of Negotiation Delegation and Drafting team of nearly 50 MOUs between Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs of Viet Nam and its international counterparts in different countries in the areas of labor and social affairs; member of Free trade agreement negotiation delegation on labor issues (CPTPP, EVFTA, EFTA, ANZFTA…). She has also contributed to promoting international cooperation in Vietnam’s TVET, including advocating and connecting international partners through ODA projects as well as being a member of important working groups of the DVET. She is extremely interested in promoting cooperation between Vietnam's TVET institutions and VET institutions of other countries and promoting and enhancing the Vietnam's TVET image to international partners.

Xuan Khanh Pham

Dr Khanh is the President of College Council of the Hanoi Vocational College of High Technology; Secretary of the Party Committee; Executive committee member of Vietnam Automation Association; Executive committee member of Vietnam Association for Vocational education and Training & Social work; Vice President of Hanoi Supporting Industry Business Association.

He has been leading Hanoi Vocational College of High Technology to contribute to the development of the country through providing high-quality human resource; researching and applying technology, providing training services to meet the society’s needs and international standards.

David Richardson

James Stafford

James Stafford is the Associate Director of International Projects and Partnerships at Holmesglen Institute. James is responsible for the management of Holmesglen’s international projects in Korea, China, Mongolia, Indonesia and Japan. He manages new educational business opportunities internationally for Holmesglen. He has also been a frequent visitor to the Middle East, having worked for over 15 years managing business development and education projects in Iran, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and UAE. James holds a Master’s in Organisational Leadership from Monash University in Melbourne and a Bachelor’s degree in Education from the University of Melbourne.

Jen Bahen

Jen is the Counsellor (Education and Research) to the Australian Embassy, Hanoi, Vietnam, with responsibility to Vietnam and Thailand. Prior to commencing this role, Jen was the Director for International Education at TAFE Directors Australia and brings with her a detailed knowledge of Australia’s tertiary education system, particularly vocational education and training. In this role, Jen was responsible for supporting Australian TAFEs to further their international engagement and as such, facilitated a number of agreements and programs that supported TAFEs expand globally. Jen also led Australia’s engagement with the World Federation of Colleges and Polytechnics, providing invaluable experience into global skilling systems.
Jen has previously worked in a number of positions within the Australian Government, leading policy and program initiatives spanning schools, vocational education and youth engagement. Jen was posted with the Department of Education, Skills and Employment to the Australian Embassies in Beijing and Bangkok, managing the broad bilateral relationship between China and Australia and Thailand and Australia. Jen has also worked in the education sector privately supporting both school and university engagement in China. Jen has lived in Beijing, Shanghai and Bangkok, and is passionate about enabling global engagement and exchange in education.
Jen completed a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Science (Honours) at the University of Melbourne.
